CHRISTIAN COUNTY JAIL RECORDS, 1887 - 1894, (Missouri), By: Roger D. Fortner. On March 11, 1887 a group of Christian County, Missouri Baldknobbers killed Charles Green and George Edens. When Zachariah A. Johnson, Started arresting the men involved, he realized that he needed more room. He soon convinced the County Court and voters to build a new jail building. Christian County now had what was considered one of the most secure jails in Missouri. This is a transcribed copy of the first record book of the "BALDKNOBBER JAIL."
